Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of https://sysdesignprep.com (the "Site") and the study materials, practice tools and paid plans offered on it (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

The Service is an interview preparation resource. It provides written explanations, diagrams, estimates, practice exercises and related content about system design. The content is educational material and general information. It is not career, legal or professional advice, and it does not guarantee any interview outcome, offer or employment.

Some questions are available to everyone. Other questions, practice features and future content are available only to accounts with an active paid plan ("Pro").

2. Accounts

You may use the free parts of the Service without an account. Paid plans require signing in with a supported identity provider (currently Google). You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if higher, to create an account.

We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms, shares access with others, or is used to attack, scrape or overload the Service.

3. Plans, payments and refunds

Pro is sold as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown on the pricing page before you buy and may change; a change does not affect a subscription period you have already paid for.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; access continues until the end of the period you paid for, and no further charges are made.
  • Lifetime means for the lifetime of the Service. If the Service is discontinued, lifetime access ends with it.
  • Taxes. Prices may exclude sales tax, VAT or GST, which is calculated at checkout based on your billing address where we are required to collect it.
  • Refunds. If Pro is not what you expected, contact us within 14 days of your first purchase and we will refund it. Renewals and later purchases are not refundable except where the law requires it.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment itself.

4. Licence and acceptable use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view and use the content for your own interview preparation. You may not:

  • copy, republish, resell, redistribute or publicly display the content, in whole or in substantial part, in any medium;
  • share your account or Pro access with other people;
  • scrape, crawl or bulk-download the Service, or use automated tools to access it beyond ordinary browsing and search-engine indexing;
  • reverse engineer, interfere with or circumvent access controls, paywalls or rate limits;
  • use the Service to build a competing product or to train a machine learning model.

Short quotations with attribution and a link, for commentary or review, are fine.

5. Intellectual property

The Service and its content, including text, diagrams, code, design and trademarks, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Company names and logos shown next to questions belong to their respective owners and are used only to indicate, based on public interview reports, where a question has been asked. They do not imply endorsement or affiliation.

6. Feedback and your data

If you send us suggestions or corrections, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use them without obligation to you. Your study session records and account data are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change, add or remove content and features at any time. We may also discontinue the Service; if we do while you have paid for a subscription period, we will refund the unused part of that period.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the content is complete, current or accurate, or that it reflects the questions or expectations of any specific employer.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may terminate or suspend access for a breach of these Terms. Sections 4, 5, 8, 9 and 11 survive termination.

11. General

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If a part of them is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may update these Terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continued use after a change means you accept it. Material changes to paid plans will be announced on the Site or by email before they take effect.
